Overview
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements.
The training consists of theory and practical, once competent, you will be eligible to set the Safework NSW high risk work licence assessment.

Course Content
Training sessions will be carried out on site in a safe designated area for practical and in a classroom environment for theory.
Course areas include:
- Assessing hazards and planning the work
- Planning and setting up the forklift ready for operations
- Conducting risk assessment and implementing control measures
- Conducting routine checks of equipment
- Operating the forklift
- Maneuvering forklift around various routes
- Practicing different types of lifts and carrying various weights
- Calculating and determining load capacity
- Shutting down and securing the forklift.
Forklift truck means a powered industrial truck equipped with lifting media made up of a mast and an elevating load carriage to which is attached a pair of fork arms or other attachments that can be raised 900 mm or more above the ground.
This unit requires a person operating a forklift truck to:
- Plan for the work/task
- Prepare for the work/task
- Perform work/task
- Pack up
Duration
2 Days of training each day consist of
Day 1 – Presentation, discussion, and operational activities
Day 2 – Theory review, unit of competence assessment (formative assessment) and Practical Demonstration
Course Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- 100 points proof of ID
- This course combines plain English and questions to ensure all learners have the best understanding of the required knowledge and skills. If you believe you will need assistance due to your Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills, don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your training needs.
Certification
- All participants are required to go through an assessment to be issued with a statement of attainment. This unit of competency is nationally recognized.
- Once the SafeWork assessment has been successfully completed, you will receive a SafeWork Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (NSA) which is valid for 60 days. A fee is then payable to Australia Post for the license card which is nationally recognised.

USI
All participants doing nationally recognised training from January 1, 2015, need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Cancellation Policy
We are unable to refund monies for students who do not turn up for classes or decide later after booking that they do not want to attend. Changes to class times are allowed, but not within 48 hours of the class commencing.
